Teddy Bears having fun on Heritage Open Day, 16th September

Of course, we wouldn’t dare let anyone’s teddy bear near a parachute unless it was safe. So it was a delight to spend bank holiday Monday working out how to give the bears a thrill of a lifetime with our brave test pilot today – watch video below.

Things we discovered:

  1. The event is very weather dependent, a wind can send the bears a distance. Fingers crossed for good weather on 16th September.
  2. Little teddy bears were brilliant, but need a bit of weight added to prevent drift. Standard sized bears the maximum we can allow.
  3. The bears enjoy their trip in a basket to the top of the tower.
  4. As an additional incentive a certificate for each participating bear should be offered.

So, as long as the weather allows (check this website on the day), its a go for the Teddy Bear parachute event.

NB No bears were injured in the course of our experiments 🙂
