Visit a Bell Ringing Practice

January 1, 1970 @ 12:00 am

A chance to learn about church bell ringing. There have been bells at St Michaels for over 250 years. The present set date from 1899 and were one of the first sets of bells manufactured using the Simpson Five Tone method. This makes the bells sound much more harmonious. The Brierley Hill ringers practice every Friday evening.
During your visit you will be able to watch the ringers at work; learn how they remember different orders of bells; and view the historic peal boards in the ringing room. You might even get a chance to chime a bell yourself. There are two sessions, one at 7pm, and one at 8pm.
Because of the limitations of the ringing room only eight visitors per time are allowed, hence the need to book.
